Child Evangelism Fellowship – CASE STUDY

Organisation: Child Evangelism Fellowship
Status: Ebase Customer
BACKGROUND

Child Evangelism Fellowship is a global Christian charity whose purpose is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and to disciple them in the Word of God and Christian living.

THE EBASE CONNECTION

CEF commissioned Ebase to rewrite their Wondersurf education system for children. The Wondersurf website is a place where children from around the world can view educational content, go on adventures, take part in quizzes and speak to Trail guides.

The global nature of the CEF network meant that a content-managed, multi-lingual and fully translatable system would be needed. With this in mind, Ebase created a site where administrators could upload content in any language and sequence the content together to form adventures for the children. This content could then be shared across multiple domains and translated to into one of more than 130 delivery languages.

HOW’S THAT WORKING OUT?

A production system was delivered January 2015 after migrating data from CEF’s old website, and initially switching the USA and German domains to the new Verj.io servers.

After the initial domains went live, the process of migrating data and adding new regional sites has been ongoing. There are now 23 live domains using the new system with more planning to go live shortly.

A new phase of the Wonderzone a project has added an HTML5 content management facility that will allow CEF to gradually replace its library of legacy Flash based educational content.

Angelika Herhaus: “We’ve found the Verj.io software platform to be flexible and highly productive, and the Ebase development teams to be professional and focused. The Verj.io platform has been an excellent choice and is now an integral part of our ICT delivery.”
